In May 2002, the RWH Clinical Practice Guideline Steering Committee was established. In March 2006 the task to oversee a process for the development of CPGs at RWH has now been completed. A CPG Committee has taken over the function of the steering committee and will focus on a review and audit process for RWH CPGs.
Role
- To coordinate and oversee the development of CPGs for Maternity, Gynaecology, Community and Neonatal Services.
- Prioritise the development of CPGs.
- Design the process for CPG development and implementation.
- Develop and implement a process to facilitate timely review of CPGs
- Provide a basis for Outcome Audit on the basis of consistent practice.

The Birth Suite CPG Group
The Delivery Suite Website group brings together a multidisciplinary team to facilitate the development of maternity clinical practice guidelines for the RWH CPG Website.
Role
To provide a forum for midwives and obstetricians to review relevant practice issues, according to research based evidence.
Produce and develop clinical practice guidelines for local use
Promote evidence based clinical practice
