Data Users

The AEDI aims to improve the early childhood development outcomes of all Australian children by providing communities, governments and policy makers with the information they need to plan and evaluate their efforts in achieving outcomes for children. It is therefore desirable that a large quantity of AEDI data be made available that is suitable for a range of purposes.

Published AEDI Data

AEDI data are published online for Australian Local Communities through online maps and more detailed Community Profiles. A Snapshot of Early Childhood Development in Australia - AEDI National Report 2009 is also available.

Published AEDI data including the National Report are available from the Results pages of the website.

Unpublished AEDI Data

In order to maximise the benefits flowing from the AEDI, more detailed data are available to approved applicants as Confidentialised Unit Record Files (CURFs).

To ensure AEDI data are accessed and used appropriately, users interested in accessing CURFs are advised to read and become familiar with the following documentation which details the principles and protocols for access, use and publication of AEDI data:

Further information, including details on accessing and using unpublished data can be found on the AEDI CURF page.
